THE ROSS RECAP (November 26-December 2)

Boys Basketball- For the boys season opener, Troy hosted the Greenville waves. The Trojans won by a score of 66-26. Jacob Martinez and Caillou Monroe each put up 19 points. Jaden Owens and Caleb Fogerty each added seven to Troy’s 66. On Friday, the boys will host Sidney at 7:30 in the TAC.
Girls Basketball- The girls basketball team began their season on Monday, November 26 by traveling to Springfield Shawnee. Troy won by a score of 47-41. Freshman Macie Taylor made her varsity debut on Monday and put up 19 points, 15 in the second half. Taylor’s sister, Makenna Taylor put up 12 points, three sets of 3s. Tia Bass was not far behind them, posting 10 points. On November 28, the girls traveled to Greenville and won by a score of 52-23. Macie Taylor had another big game, putting up 19 points and Bass added 16 points. On Saturday, the girls fell to Cedarville by a score of 57-18.
Wrestling- Troy competed at Sidney for their first match of the season. Shane Shoop was runner up in his weight class, but was unable to compete in the championship because of an injury he sustained in the match before. David McGraw finished fourth place in his weight class, Carlos Quintero placed third in his weight class and Zach Evans also placed third in his weight class.
Swimming- The swim team began their season competing at the Mason High School Invitational on Saturday, December 1. Katie Robinson, Hailey Honeycutt and Calvin Armstrong qualified for finals as individuals as well as the girls 400 yard freestyle relay, which included Katie Robinson, Hailey Honeycutt, Lily Hemm and Addisyn Fields. The Trojans will have a dual meet against Wayne at the Robinson Branch YMCA on Friday, December 7.
Bowling- To begin the 2018-2019 bowling season, Troy competed against Versailles on November 29 and the girls won the match by a score 2228 to 2192. Kayleigh McMullen bowled a 403 to lead the team. Kylie Schiml followed behind her, bowling a score of 379, Stephanie Crider bowled a 378 and Alyssa Shilt bowled a 356. The boys also competed against Versailles and won by a score of 2531 to 2212. Jordan Fisher led the boys, bowling a 461, Carson Rogers followed behind him, bowling a 439, Drew Snurr bowled a 430, Preston Gambrell bowled a 415 and Preston Jackson bowled a 399. On Saturday, both teams competed in the OHSAA kickoff Tournament in Columbus. The girls placed placed second. Stephanie Crider and Cassidy McMullen made the all tournament team in fourth and fifth place respectively. The boys also competed in the OHSAA, placing 28 by a score of 2558.
Cheer- Congratulations to the varsity competition cheerleaders and coaches. The girls competed at the 2018 GWOC Cheer Competition and claimed the name of 2018 GWOC North American Division Champions. Congratulations on a great season.
