Girls Varsity Bowling · Girls’ Bowling Qualifies for State Championship Tournament

The Troy varsity girls’ bowling team repeated the boys’ bowling team feat from yesterday, tenaciously hanging on to the 5th and final spot for a trip to OHSAA State Championships.  The girls hung in the 4th and 5th place spot all day, heading into Baker play with just a 3 pin margin over Beavercreek at the cut line. Needing a 176 to advance, the Troy girls put together a 195 game on a lane they had struggled on earlier in the day.  The Lady Trojans made the cut despite losing lead off bowler Alyssa Shilt after the first game to a sudden & severe illness, but Alyssa’s freshman sister Morgan stepped in to fill the gap.  The girls will compete at the OHSAA Division I State Championship Tournament on Friday, March 8 at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl.  This is the girls eleventh trip to the State Championships.
