The Ohio High School Athletic Association has announced the results of a state-wide coaches vote for the 2020 Senior All Star Game, scheduled for Sunday, March 15 at Nationwide Arena in downtown Columbus, home of the National Hockey League’s Columbus Blue Jackets.
Troy senior captain Zak Uhlenbrock has been voted as an All Star, and will represent the Trojans as one of only two players selected to participate from the South West Ohio High School Hockey League.
“This is a tremendous honor for Zak, and it is a fitting cap to a great high school hockey career representing Troy High School and the City of Troy on the ice and in the community” noted Trojans Head Coach Rick Szabo.
Uhlenbrock led the Trojans in scoring with 15 goals and 8 assists for a total of 23 points, while guiding the Trojans as team captain on and off the ice.
Troy’s history with the OHSAA Senior All Star Game runs deep, with a handful of former Trojans suiting up for the game, as well as Head Coach Rick Szabo being voted in as All Star Coach of the winning Southwest Team in 2007.
The Trojans have planned a special team trip to the All Star Game in order to cheer on their captain, while staying to watch the Championship game following, celebrating OHSAA hockey in the state’s capital.
The Senior All Star Game will take place at 9am on Sunday, March 15 and will be played prior to the OHSAA Varsity Hockey Championship game beginning at Noon inside Nationwide Arena. Admission to the All Star Game is free, with tickets available for the Championship Game for only $10.
